We are Aaqib & Livy, HAYAQI's founders and partners in life. , and between us, carriers of six cultures and seven languages. We grew up between worlds: from South Asia to Europe to South East Asia and the Americas. That in-between space, the place where cultures meet, where old knowledge meets new life, is the space we've always called home.
And it's the space HAYAQI was built to inhabit. We love to honour our roots, and we have a shared passion for exploring cultures across the world, and telling the real stories of real people, honouring the people and the crafts that keep ancient cultures alive.
We have always lived between cultures. We know what it feels like to carry multiple worlds inside you: to love where you come from while being drawn irresistibly toward what you haven't yet discovered. That tension is not something to resolve. It's something to wear.
HAYAQI exists for the people who feel the same way. The curious adventurers. The ones who travel not to escape but to understand. The ones who want the clothing on their bodies to mean something: to carry a story, a place, a pair of hands that made it with intention.
Why HAYAQI?
HAYAQI carries two words from two worlds.
Hayat: the Arabic word for life. A word that holds weight: not just existence, but the fullness of living. The stories, the connections, the moments that remind you why you're here.
Qi: the Chinese concept of vital energy. The invisible force that flows through all living things. The animating presence behind great craft, great art, and great intention.
Put them together and you have the beating heart of everything we make: life, animated by intention.

What We Stand For
We believe fashion can be an act of cultural respect. Not appropriation, but deep listening. We go to the source: to the villages, the workshops, the weavers who have inherited a craft through generations of practice. We learn the story. We work alongside the people who hold it. And then we translate: carefully, reverently, playfully, into clothing that carries that story into the world.
We are not a trend brand. We are not a fast brand. We are a brand that believes the most beautiful thing you can wear is something made with complete attention by someone who has spent a lifetime learning how.
The Collections: One Culture at a Time
Each HAYAQI capsule collection is a journey into a single culture. A deep dive into the craft, the people, the history, the symbolism. We spend time. We listen. We work with artisans who have spent their lives inside this knowledge. And then we translate what we've learned into a limited-edition collection that carries that culture with it wherever it travels.
Each collection has a name, a story, and a natural end. When it sells out, it retires. The next collection takes us somewhere new.
This is not a brand that repeats itself. Every season is a new story.
