The Essence of Grace. Named after the Bahasa Indonesia word for "style", the Gaya Women's Kimono is a testament to effortless elegance. This mid-length kimono is slowly hand-crafted from our signature hand-loomed 100% Javanese Ikat cotton, featuring a versatile open silhouette that flows with your movement. Complete with a matching belt to secure your movements and flow.

Every length of this cloth spent close to two months on a hand loom in East Java, where the pattern was dyed into the yarn before weaving rather than printed on afterwards. It is the slowest way to make fabric, and the only way to get a pattern that cannot be repeated. It was then cut and hand-finished by a small family workshop in Bali.

This colourway is a washed sky blue, soft enough for daylight.

  • Kimono: a mid-length kimono with a versatile silhouette and a matching belt
  • Hand-loomed in East Java over approx. two months, then hand-stitched in Bali by a small family of tailors
  • Embrace the beauty of hand dyes: subtle variations in colour make your piece one of a kind
  • Fabric: 100% handwoven Javanese Ikat cotton
  • Colour: Light Blue

Due to the hand-made nature of our garments, we recommend you hand wash HAYAQI garments in cold water only, and wash separately by color to avoid color bleeding. We recommend you lay your garment flat to dry, away from the sun. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Learn more here.
